5×5 With The Hook: Robyn Lawson, Blog Woman!!!

I couldn’t have been more honoured to have been knighted a saint or something like that this week.  I am feelin’ the love, like a kitty rolling in catnip on a cloud of cotton! That’s not an everyday experience, so I’m just going to savour this for a tiny bit.

First, I had the fantastic pleasure of joining in the fun of the 5×5 interview series by author Robert Hookey.  Robert, AKA The Hook, is the author of The Bellman Chronicles and many blog posts about the occasionally R rated, insane, zany craziness of being a bellhop in one of Canada’s finest hotels,  which for many good reasons is deliberately unnamed.

He recently highly flattered featured me in the series. He asks 5 questions that make you think about things you may not have thought about for awhile, or actually, if ever.  This is the start of the feature here and if you are interested enough to see the rest, (hint: bananas are involved) please click on the link that follows.

5×5 With The Hook: Robyn Lawson, Blog Woman!!!

wonder woman

This was the original image, but an artist friend of mine (facebook.com/DQuarinPhotography) decided to update the image in his own unique way. The Hook decided he preferred that one too. See the change on The Hook’s page.

She’s awesome. Period.

Let’s get started, shall we?

All right, let’s get to it.  Robyn Lawson isn’t just any ole blogger… she is… the one, the only… Blog Woman!!! (You know she’s cool because she uses three exclamation marks after her name.)…  Cont’d…

Secondly, I’m sending a huge thank you to author Marcia Meara, for her incredible kindness of naming me in her first “favorite blogger of the week” series on her website. Marcia is a fiction writer of murderous mysteries with quite a few books under her amazing and accomplished authoring belt. She is also one of those people who won’t waste a minute to prop you up; we became BFFs in what must be record time of about 3.7 seconds after our online introduction.

Marcia’s kind words are here, but you might want to wander through her pages to check out some of her books that help with escape from the real world for a bit.

Thank you both Hook and Marcia, for this week of humbling and uplifting smiles.  You rock like no others!

About Blog Woman!!!

Once in a while I can rock a thought. I simply believe in what I stand up for. I'd most like people to know that surviving the trials of mountains and monsters is more than resilience - it’s a path to your destiny. On a mostly weekly basis I throw out a grab-bag of facts, ideas or creativity; like a box of chocolates wrapped in ribbons of occasional profanity.... In other words, it's my party I can fun if I want to. So, waddya say, can we talk?

It is you, lovely Robyn, who rocks like no other. Thank you for your friendship, zaniness and general coolness. You’re an original, Lawson.

    • You can’t know this, but a really good friend used to call me Lawson. I haven’t heard that for awhile, so you just took me down a really sweet road of memories. You Hook you! Thanks for that and the linguistic hugs..

  2. Marcia says:

I agree with The Hook…you are the Rocker, Dear Heart! Blogger of the Week on my wee little blog is nowhere near a big enough tribute for all that excitement. But, wait…maybe I shouldn’t tell you that. I take it back!! I meant to say…ahem…And well you SHOULD feel proud and humbled. Both at the same time, even. (No mean trick.) There is probably no higher reward in the Blogosphere than being the First Ever Blogger of the Week on my prestigious blog, Bookin’ It. You’re right up there with the likes of…of…oh, crap. I forgot you’re the only one so far. But there will be more, never fear! And they will be GOOD, too. And you’ll be right there with them. So hold your head up high, and walk tall, O Ye of The Three, Count ’em, THREE Exclamation Points. Thou dost ROCKETH!
    (Er…I’m done now. Bye.)

    • LOL Marcia. For the record, I was thrilled with the honour of being the First Ever Blogger of the Week on your prestigious blog, Bookin’ It. I am sure that so will everyone else who follows! I hold my head very high now.
      Have a fabulous weekend BFF.

      • Marcia says:

And you as well, Robyn. Just so you know…in all seriousness, and I can be VERY serious at times…I was really happy to have met you, and there was no doubt in my mind you were going to be my first Blog of the Week choice. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, filled with all your favorite things! Me, I’ll be writing. But since I love that, it’s all good. 🙂 Later, Rockin’ Robyn!

  3. Bruce Goodman says:

SOOO while you party party party all week, the rest of us slog our guts out trying to “earn” a couple of likes. Well done, Robyn! Simply, genuinely terrific!!!

    • Ha ha ha… OMG, I happen to know you are much beloved in this ‘sphere!
Thanks so much Bruce – ya ol’ slogger you!
And, I will be sweeping the household for all listening devices over the weekend! 😀

How awesome. Sound like you are developing quite the number of fans, Robyn. Myself included. I love that you love Wonder Woman. I love her too. It was lovely to get to know you a bit better- really enjoyed your humor, whicH I got to see more of. I bet it would be fun to do coffee if we were ever in the same city.

    • And how!! About doing the coffee sometime in some city that would happen to be enough to handle the two of us at one time!
I can’t tell you how nice it’s been to get to know people in this realm, and almost all of them seemingly by chance. Although in my belief system, there are no true coincidences. Anyway, it’s quite amazing what we learn about the people we read, and how much we get to know about who they really are. If I ever get to L.A. again, I’ll send you a note to see if you’re going to be in the general vicinity then. I would love to meet you in person.

Very awesome, Robyn! This has been a great year for you and blogging. 🙂 so happy for you.

    • Hey there Christy! Yes, it really has been a great ride so far. I had no idea that what this world held, let alone what I was going to get. Mysterious angels… 😉
I got such a great and supportive response to Songs of Small Town Mothers and Daughters – mostly by email because people wanted to share their own stories privately, but it really was humbling reinforcement that what we write can really matter for someone.
Nice to see you, as always! Hope your newest year celebrations were as wonderful as you are.

  8. I love, love, LOVE your interview! 😀

    • Awww Rachel! Thanks for that, you spirit lifter, you!
I think I have some catching up to do on your pages too, but I am currently caught up in the usual June madness, which this year includes a teacher’s strike! Ugh! See you soon, though – I can’t stay away from your words too long. 🙂

  9. HOT DAMN! its time you and partnered. *can i be like your robin is to batman?*

What's on your mind, let's talk about it...
